NBA 2K13 is a basketball video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2012 in North America, and October 5, 2012 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Wii U and Wii, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls are the cover athletes. Unlike its predecessor, NBA 2K12, NBA 2K13 features all three cover athletes on the same cover, rather than individual covers. NBA 2K13 is the successor to NBA 2K12 in the NBA 2K series.

Return Of Legends

Evey legendary team from last years game will be in NBA 2k13. The 00-01 Philadelphia 76ers with Allen Iverson are the only new team that will be in the game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius Erving, and Chris Webber will not be in the game.

Dream Team/ Team USA 2012

In August of 2012, 2k announced that the USA Olympic Basketball Team of 1992, (The Dream Team) and the USA Olypmic Basketball Team of 2012 will be in the game to settle the debate of which team is better. Charles Barkley, someone who hasn't been in a 2k Sports game since 2000, will be in the game this year. It was first reported that Scottie Pippen wouldn't be in the game due to contract issues, but decided to be in the game once convinced by his family and friends. Jay-Z has been given credit for having the Olympic teams in the game, and for having Charles Barkley in the game.

Features/Modes

There have been some new features added to this years game, including the following:

2013 NBA All-Star Content: Fans that pre-order NBA 2K13 will receive a new downloadable content package, NBA 2K13 All-Star presented by Sprite. This add-on content set in Houston, site of the 2013 NBA All-Star Game, includes four events from All-Star weekend: the Rising Stars Challenge game, East v. West NBA All-Star game, the Three Point Contest and an all-new Sprite Slam Dunk Contest featuring pick-up-and-play controls.

My Team mode: My Team mode allows you to create your own fantasy basketball team using player cards. You start out with a pack of bronze cards. There are bronze, silver, and gold packs of cards. Bronze has the least value of players, and gold has the most. You can buy players using coins. They will also assign you an arena of a NBA team to play in, a coach from a NBA team, and a playbook from a NBA team. The better the player, the more coins you have to pay for them. When you fist create your team, you will be put in a 12 game season online with other My Teams. If you win 3 games in the season, you will advance to the 8th seed in a bracket. The more games you win, the higher seed you get. If you become the number 1 seed, then Michael Jordan will be added to your team, only a few elite will achieve. You can also play your My Team againist the computer, and you can also play exhibition games. It is very similar to Madden's Ultimate Team.

My Player mode: My Player mode returns, but in a whole new different style. This year, you won't be playing any games in My Player mode, you'll just be creating your player, but it is in more detail then ever before. You can now choose what clothes to wear at pre-game arrivals, your game-day appearance, and when you go 1 on 1 in Blacktop. You will have menu options in the mode like My Player Store, My Player Closet, V.I.P Stats, Edit My Player, and Edit My Player Account.

My Career mode: My Career mode is basically My Player mode from NBA 2k12. You start out by playing in the Rookie Showcase with all the rookies drafted in 2012. You can be drafted first overall in the for the first time ever. The mode has a lot of focus on your player's personal life, including a feature called GM sit-downs, were you do interviews with your GM in his office. During anytime in the season, you can request a meeting with your GM. You will be determing the course of your career more then ever before. There will also be a new feature called Socisl Media were you can read what NBA experts, players, and followers are saying about you on twitter. This includes Ric Bucher, Ronnie 2k, Michael Jordan, Bow Wow, Lebron James, and many more. They have a lot more endorsements, and you can choose what path you go on, Nike or Air Jordan. Depending on your peformance, you can earn coins. You can buy signature skills for your player, and you can buy some cool little dance move you can do right before tip-off. You will also be able to track your fan count, what the media thinks of you, and your team chemistry. How you behave in press conferences will have an effect on this.

NBA: Creating A Legend mode: NBA: Creating A Legend mode returns for its third year in a row. You will be able to take any NBA player, and play out the rest of there career on any team.
